Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Livestreamlines ("we", "our",
"us") handles information in the LSL TV Android TV
application (the "App"), published on Google Play under the package name
tv.lsl.com. LSL TV is a companion viewer for the
Livestreamlines construction-monitoring platform, intended for use by
our contracted construction developers, contractors and their staff.
We designed this app to collect as little personal data as possible. We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party session-replay tools. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
1. Who we are
Livestreamlines is the data controller for information processed through LSL TV. If you have any privacy questions or want to exercise the rights described in section 8 below, contact us at:
2. Information we collect
Provided by you at sign-in
| Data | Why we collect it | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Account ID | Identifies which Livestreamlines customer account is signed in on the TV. | Required to use the app. |
| PIN | Authenticates the account holder on shared-TV setups. | Required to use the app. |
Generated automatically once signed in
| Data | Purpose | Stored where |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication token (JWT) | Keeps you signed in without re-typing the PIN for up to 48 hours of activity. | Encrypted browser storage on the TV device only. Never sent to third parties. |
| Session activity timestamp | Slides the 48-hour session forward whenever you use the app. | Device only. |
| Content view history | Standard server-side access logs for the media you stream (which project, which camera, at what time). Used only to serve the content and diagnose issues. | Livestreamlines' servers. |
What we deliberately do not collect
- Advertising identifiers (no ads).
- Location data (GPS, Wi-Fi triangulation, IP geolocation).
- Contacts, calendar, or SMS content.
- Photos or files from your device (the app only receives content streamed from our servers).
- Microphone or camera input from your TV.
- Biometric data.
- Personal profile information beyond the account ID.
3. How we use your information
- Authenticate you against the Livestreamlines platform so you only see the projects your account is authorised for.
- Deliver the videos, photos and camera feeds associated with your projects.
- Keep you signed in for 48 hours of activity so the TV auto-resumes after each power cycle.
- Diagnose problems when playback fails, using anonymised request logs on our servers.
We do not use your data to advertise to you, profile you, or share it with any marketing partner.
4. Legal basis for processing
If you are located in a jurisdiction that requires a stated legal basis (e.g. GDPR, UAE PDPL), we process the data listed above under two grounds:
- Performance of a contract — the service agreement between your organisation and Livestreamlines. Without your account ID and PIN we cannot deliver the media you subscribed to.
- Legitimate interests — for security logging and abuse prevention, weighed against your privacy interests.
5. How we store and protect your data
- In transit — every request from the app to our servers uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher.
- On the device — the account ID, PIN and JWT are held in the app's private storage, sandboxed by Android so other apps on the TV cannot read them. They are automatically cleared when you press Sign Out or uninstall the app.
- On our servers — account records are protected by standard industry safeguards (access control, encryption at rest, regular backups).
- No third-party analytics — the app ships with no SDKs from Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment or similar. Only the Capacitor, Lightning.js and Shaka Player open-source libraries are bundled, none of which transmit user data to their vendors.
6. Data retention
- Authentication token on the device — cleared after 48 hours of no activity, on Sign Out, or on uninstall.
- Account information on our servers — retained for the duration of your organisation's Livestreamlines contract, plus the period required by applicable accounting and tax laws (typically up to seven years in the UAE).
- Server access logs — retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting, then purged.
7. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We use a limited number of infrastructure sub-processors solely to run the service:
- Webdock — hosting of the Livestreamlines API backend.
- iDrive e2 / AWS S3 — storage of the photos and videos we stream to you.
- Google Play — distribution of this app and, optionally, aggregated crash-rate metrics we can see in the Play Console. Google does not receive your account ID or PIN.
We may also disclose information when required to do so by a valid legal order from a competent authority.
8. Your rights
You may, at any time and free of charge:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on your consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@livestreamlines.com with the subject line "Privacy request". We aim to respond within 30 days.
9. Children's privacy
LSL TV is a business-to-business tool for construction professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us at info@livestreamlines.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Permissions used by the app
LSL TV requests only the following Android permissions:
INTERNET— required to stream video and photo content from our servers.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— required to detect when the TV loses Wi-Fi so we can show an appropriate error instead of a blank screen.
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, calendar, SMS, phone, or accounts.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" at the top of the document and, for material changes, prompt you inside the app on next launch. The latest version is always available at this URL.
12. Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute related to it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent UAE courts, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have under your local law.
